Iceland is the ideal place to start a mindful running practice that not only helps you run better, but to erase the effects of stress from your mind and body. While it’s not far from North America (and there are direct flights to Reykjavik from many major U.S. cities), this remote Arctic nation can feel a world away. During the retreat, we suggest that you turn off your GPS watch and use your phone only sparingly so that you can cultivate a more present state of mind and truly unwind the knots of tension created by daily stress.

In this beautiful land of cozy, turf-roofed lodges, black sand beaches and gleaming glacier-capped volcanoes, you simply get to focus on what raises your energy, lifts your spirit and soothes your soul. Each day of the retreat combines inspiring scenic trail run with free time to soak in geothermal hot springs, explore charming villages and connect with like-minded women over delicious, traditional Icelandic dishes.

You’ve probably heard just how touristy Iceland is these days, but you won’t notice it so much given the places we stay and run. We’ve taken care of all the travel details so you can simply show up and run. And now that travel restrictions are loosening, it’s easier to travel internationally now than it’s been in two and half years.

Plus, you can make the most of your time in Iceland with a two-day extension package before the retreat begins, or an extra hotel night in Reykjavik after the retreat ends. Simply add these options to your retreat package for a seamless experience.

This year, we’re excited to announce some changes to the itinerary to bring you even more comfort and unique Icelandic cultural experiences. In keeping with our mindful retreat design principles, we strike an ideal balance between traveling from place to place with time to enjoy scenic, leisurely runs and time for rest, recovery, self care, exploration and just hanging out and socializing!

This retreat is still excellent for women who may not have much experience running on trails but are game to learn something new and take their run fitness off the roads and onto the dirt. Our experienced retreat leaders are great at providing tips and techniques that help you instantly feel more confident and comfortable running in this new environment.

Here’s what’s NEW:

✔️ You’ll stay two nights at the luxurious Turfhus retreat, a collection of cozy, grass-roofed cabins featuring Viking-inspired décor, gourmet chef-prepared meals and black basalt-stone outdoor lined hot pools for private soaking at the end of each day’s adventures.

✔️ Run a stunning trail alongside the thundering waters of Skogafoss, a massive waterfall that will awe us with its power and beauty. After the initial uphill climb, we’ll run out-and-back along the plateau overlooking this geological marvel and out to the glacier-capped volcanoes of the Icelandic Highlands.

✔️ Enjoy runs that take you up close to a geyser that shoots water 40 meters into the air and through the mysterious Valley of Steam, where you feel as though you’re running on another planet!

✔️ Have a rejuvenating wellness experience at the newly opened Sky Lagoon, where you can soak in naturally heated geothermal pools overlooking the Arctic Sea.
