Updated November 7, 2022

For over 12 years now, Run Wild Retreats + Wellness has been committed to creating exceptional retreat experiences for runners like you. We have served hundreds of runners on retreats since the Covid-19 pandemic began and we remain committed to proceeding with retreats as travel and health guidelines around the world allow.

This situation is fluid, and as it evolves, so will our response. We’ll continue to be in touch and provide updates as they roll in. For guests with active bookings, we are communicating directly about the changes. We appreciate your trust in us, and we’re here to help find the right decision for you, so please reach out if you have any questions.

Which retreats are operating?

We are proceeding with all scheduled retreats in 2023 and beyond that meet at least minimum group size and there are no travel restrictions on that destination. We continue to monitor all advisories and will reach out to guests booked on each trip as we learn more about travel restrictions or other news impacting travel. We will continue to review our policies as the situation evolves.

Is vaccination required to participate?

No. Starting with 2023 retreats, you no longer need to provide proof of vaccination or a Covid-19 test. However, we do ask that you sign a health declaration card affirming that you have no Covid-19 symptoms and are not presently contagious and have not tested positive within 7 days of the retreat’s start.

If you were recently diagnosed and recovered from Covid-19, please refer to these guidelines from the CDC to identify whether it’s safe for you to travel: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html#

Are the retreat leaders vaccinated?

Run Wild Retreats is asking all its retreat leaders to be vaccinated and boosted when eligible.

What if I or an immediate family member contracts Covid-19 and I can’t travel?

if you elected for a Refundable Booking, then you are eligible for a full refund if you or a member of your immediate household tests positive for Covid. Learn more about refundable bookings here.

What happens if my retreat can’t proceed due to travel restrictions?

If Run Wild Retreats is forced to cancel or postpone a retreat due to travel restrictions after the trip had been confirmed, you have the following options:

1) Transfer your retreat payment (less any non-refundable costs already paid to suppliers) to the same retreat in the future, or to a different retreat. Tell us which retreat you choose and we will apply all remaining funds to your new booking. The $100 booking transfer fee does not apply.

2) Put your payment (less any non-refundable costs already paid to our suppliers) on file as credit with no expiration date.

3) Request a refund of your retreat payment less any non-refundable costs already paid to our suppliers. We work with our suppliers within each destination to minimize the amount of non-refundable costs and recover as much of your money as possible.

Note: If you purchased travel insurance, you can file a claim with your travel insurance provider for reimbursement of the non-refundable portion of your retreat payment. We can provide you with a receipt and notice of cancellation for this insurance claim.

What if I or someone else gets sick during the retreat and must quarantine?

We have a comprehensive safety plan in place for all our retreats. That plan takes into consideration policies and advice of the local authorities in place at that time and your retreat leader will assist you as much as possible. We strongly recommend checking your travel insurance policy before you travel to determine what level of insurance coverage you may be eligible for in the event that you are quarantined or get sick while traveling. Direct all coverage questions directly to your provider.

We recommend that all travelers have a contingency fund for unavoidable situations such as severe weather, natural disasters and civil unrest when you travel. With this in mind, we recommend you carry US$500 for medical expenses in case it is needed. Please note that Run Wild Retreats is not responsible for additional costs due to quarantines and/or medical sickness.

What screening procedures are in place at my destination?

Every international port of entry will have its own testing and/or screening requirements in place. If you have traveled through a country affected by Covid-19, you may be denied entry or be required to quarantine for a period of time. Before arriving at your destination, you will need to make sure you meet all entry and exit requirements. Many countries have put in place new entry measures due to the Covid-19 outbreak and these are changing daily. We strongly recommend that you check this information frequently. The link below has information on screening and COVID-19 per country.

What if I’m booked on a retreat but don’t want to travel?

Our normal cancellation policy applies.

What if my previously confirmed retreat gets cancelled for low participation?

Run Wild Retreats will rebook you on the same retreat at a later date or put your full retreat payment on file as credit to be used for future travel with us.

Should I get travel insurance?

Yes, if you book an international retreat we require you to have a travel insurance policy with at least $100,000 in medical coverage. We highly recommend you get travel insurance, if you are traveling domestically. Travel insurance may cover your retreat package in the event you are unable to travel due to certain circumstances. Run Wild Retreats is not responsible for any non-refundable losses you may incur as a result of changing your travel plans or we have to cancel the retreat due to travel restrictions or border closures. This is where travel insurance can help you recover lost funds. Click here for a no-obligation quote from our insurance partner, Travel Guard: https://runwildretreats.com/travel-insurance/

How do I redeem my travel credit from last year?

If you have a payment on file as credit, you may redeem this credit for any new booking at any time. This credit never expires. To redeem this credit, email us at info@runwildretreats.com for assistance.
