Updated September 1, 2021
For 10 years now, Run Wild Retreats + Wellness has been committed to creating exceptional retreat experiences for runners like you. Our vision has not wavered, even during these unprecedented times. While we remain committed to proceeding with retreats once conditions and the authorities allow again, we are keenly aware that everyone has their own perspective on what’s right for them. Therefore, we’ve adjusted our booking and cancellation policies to allow you more time and flexibility to make the right decision for you.
This situation is fluid, and as it evolves, so will our response. We’ll continue to be in touch and provide updates as they roll in. For guests on retreats impacted by the seemingly ever-changing landscape, we are communicating directly about the changes. We appreciate your trust in us, and we’re here to help find the right decision for you, so please reach out if you have any questions.
We will run all scheduled 2021 trips and beyond, unless travel restrictions are reinstated
We are planning to proceed with all scheduled retreats in 2021. We continue to monitor all advisories and will reach out to guests booked on each trip as we learn more about travel restrictions or other news impacting travel. We will continue to review our policies as the situation evolves.

Our deposit, payment and cancellation policies are designed to support everyone’s needs: our customers, our suppliers and ours. We have worked hard to identify where we can relax those policies while upholding the integrity of these relationships.

Is Vaccination required to participate?
The recent surge in Covid infections as a result of the Delta variant has prompted us to again update our health and safety protocols. Out of an abundance of caution, Run Wild Retreats:
- Requires all retreat participants traveling with us after October 1, 2021 or later to be fully vaccinated. This applies to both international and domestic retreats. If you are We will continue to review and update our policies regarding vaccination and testing as needed. If you have a medical condition exempting you from getting vaccinated, please contact us.
Requires all retreat participants traveling with us before October 1, 2021 to be fully vaccinated or provide results of negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of the retreat’s start. See here for the testing site nearest you. You can learn more about at-home testing options that are approved for airline travel here.
- Strongly recommending all guests get vaccinated before coming on a retreat regardless of regional entry requirements. See here for CDC vaccine guidance.
- If you were recently diagnosed and recovered from Covid-19, you will need to provide a doctor’s note stating that you are no longer contagious and are medically cleared to travel.
What happens if my retreat can’t proceed due to travel restrictions?
If Run Wild Retreats is forced to cancel or postpone a retreat due to travel restrictions after the trip had been confirmed, you have the following options:
1) Transfer your retreat payment (less any non-refundable costs already paid to suppliers) to the same retreat in the future, or to a different retreat. Tell us which retreat you choose and we will apply all remaining funds to your new booking. The $100 book transfer fee does not apply.
2) Put your payment (less any non-refundable costs already paid to our suppliers) on file as credit with no expiration date.
3) Request a refund of your retreat payment less any non-refundable costs already paid to our suppliers. We work with our suppliers within each destination to minimize the amount of non-refundable costs and recover as much of your money as possible.
Note: If you purchased travel insurance, you can file a claim with your travel insurance provider for reimbursement of the non-refundable portion of your retreat payment. We can provide you with a receipt and notice of cancellation for this insurance claim.
What if I get sick and must quarantine?
We will follow policies and advice of the local authorities and your retreat leader will assist you as much as possible. We strongly recommend checking your travel insurance policy before you travel to determine what level of insurance coverage you may be eligible for in the event that you are quarantined or get sick while traveling. Direct all coverage questions directly to your provider.
We recommend a contingency fund for unavoidable situations such as severe weather, natural disasters and civil unrest when you travel. With this in mind, we recommend you carry US$500 for medical expenses in case it is needed. Please note that Run Wild Retreats is not responsible for additional costs due to quarantines and/or medical sickness.
What screening procedures are in place at my destination?
Every port of entry will have its own testing and/or screening requirements in place. If you have traveled through a country affected by Covid-19, you may be denied entry or be required to quarantine for a period of time. Before arriving at your destination, you will need to make sure you meet all entry and exit requirements. Many countries have put in place new entry measures due to the Covid-19 outbreak and these are changing daily. We strongly recommend that you check this information frequently. The link below has information on screening and COVID-19 per country.
What if I’m booked on a retreat but don’t want to travel?
What if my previously confirmed retreat gets cancelled for low attendance due to guest cancellations?
Run Wild Retreats will rebook you on the same retreat at a later date or put your full retreat payment on file as credit to be used for future travel with us.
Should I get travel insurance?
Yes, we highly recommend you get travel insurance, even if you are traveling domestically. Travel insurance may cover your retreat package in the event you are unable to travel due to certain circumstances. Run Wild Retreats is not responsible for any non-refundable losses you may incur as a result of changing your travel plans or we have to cancel the retreat due to travel restrictions or border closures. This is where travel insurance can help you recover lost funds. Click here for a no-obligation quote from our insurance partner, Travel Guard: https://runwildretreats.com/travel-insurance/
How do I redeem my travel credit from last year?
If you have a payment on file as credit, you may redeem this credit for any new booking at any time. This credit never expires. To redeem this credit, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
